Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, October 17, 2022, the committee resumed its study of financialization of housing.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Financialization of Housing".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single or double-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

At 5:51 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:56 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That notwithstanding the work plan adopted on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the committee shall, following the completion of its study on the Canada Summer Jobs wage subsidy program, undertake its study of the implications of artificial intelligence technologies for the Canadian labour force for a total of five meetings; and that following the completion of its study of the implications of artificial intelligence technologies for the Canadian labour force, the committee shall undertake the study of Bill C-318, an Act to amend the Employment Insurance Act and the Canada Labour Code (adoptive and intended parents), for a total of two meetings to hear witnesses; and that following the completion of the study of Bill C-318, an Act to amend the Employment Insurance Act and the Canada Labour Code (adoptive and intended parents), the committee undertake its study on intergenerational volunteerism for three meetings.

It was agreed, — That the deadline for the submission of briefs in relation to the study of the Canada Summer Jobs wage subsidy program be Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

At 6:10 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:13 p.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and the Deputy Minister of the Office of Infrastructure of Canada be invited to appear for two hours during the meeting of Monday, October 30, 2023, following the briefing session with the Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

At 6:23 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
