Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 3, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the Housing Accelerator Fund.

Cathy Heron, Jason Thorne, Edward John and Anne Demers made statements and, with Coralie Le Roux, answered questions.

Stephanie Kusie gave notice of the following motion:

That, given the recent reports of passport renewal delays, the committee send for, from Service Canada, a weekly progress report including:

(a) the number of passport requests in the previous week;
(b) the number of passports cleared in the previous week;
(c) the current backlog;
(d) the number of express passports processed in the previous week for travel within 25 days;
(e) the number of express passports processed in the previous week for travel within five days; and
(f) a resume of the trends over the last four weeks.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 12:16 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:24 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motions adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 3, 2022, and Thursday, June 2, 2022, the two-hour meeting of Thursday, June 9, 2022, be dedicated to hearing from witnesses in relation to the study of the Housing Accelerator Fund.

At 12:40 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

At 12:44 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
