Scott Aitchison moved, — That, given that the Governor of the Bank of Canada recently remarked that “supply shortages in our housing market are boosting prices for shelter”, the committee concur in the Governor’s remarks and report them to the House.

That, given multiple recent reports of persons with disabilities facing discrimination and unacceptable treatment while traveling with Air Canada, and that Air Canada admitted it violated Canadian disability regulations, that, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee invite Air Canada Chief Executive Officer Michael Rousseau as soon as possible to committee for a minimum of one hour to explain these violations related to persons with disabilities and how they will rectify this situation; that a report of this meeting be prepared and presented to the House; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the government table a comprehensive response to the report and explain how they will rectify this situation.

It was agreed, — That the committee give priority over all other future work to the study of Bill C-319 and that, to this end, the committee allocate three consecutive meetings, including one to hear from the Minister of Labour and Seniors and the sponsor of the bill, and two meetings to hear testimony from seniors' representatives.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the implications of artificial intelligence technologies for the Canadian labor force, the proposed budget in the amount of $63,487.83, for the committee’s travel to Toronto, Ontario, and Montréal, Québec, in Winter 2024, be adopted.
