Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, May 16, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the subject matter of Part 5, Divisions 26, 27, 29 and 32 of Bill C-19, Budget Implementation Act, 2022, No. 1.

Leah Nord, Luc Vachon and Luc Beauregard made statements and answered questions.

At 12:05 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:13 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Motion

Louise Chabot moved, — That, following the testimony received and heard in committee within the framework of the study of Part 5, Divisions 26, 27, 29 and 32 of Bill C-19, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on April 7, 2022 and other measures, the committee recommends to the Standing Committee on Finance that Division 32 of Bill C-19 be split.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

On motion of Marilyn Gladu, it was agreed, — That the committee recommends to the Standing Committee on Finance that the government ensure that there are adequate resources to support the changes proposed in Bill C-19.

ORDERED, — That the Chair write a letter to the Chair of the Standing Committee on Finance following the committee’s study of the subject matter of Part 5, Division 26, 27, 29 and 32 of Bill C-19.

At 12:38 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
