Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Friday, June 2, 2023, the committee commenced its study of the implications of artificial intelligence technologies for the Canadian labor force.

Marguerita Lane, Chris Roberts, Laurent Carbonneau and Marc Frenette made statements and, with Vincent Dale, answered questions.

At 6:08 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:12 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $9,500.00, for the study of the Canada Summer Jobs wage subsidy program, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $4,250.00, for the study of Bill C-318, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $16,250.00, for the study of the artificial intelligence technologies for the Canadian labor force, be adopted.

At 6:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
