Pursuant to the order of reference of Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the committee resumed consideration of Bill C-270, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (pornographic material).

The committee resumed consideration of the motion of James Maloney moved on Thursday, October 31, 2024, which read as follows:

That the Committee request an extension of 30 sitting days to the period of Committee consideration for Bill C-270.

Amendment

Chris Bittle moved, — That the motion be amended by adding at the end of the motion the following: “and that the Committee invite the Minister of Justice to appear for one hour on the Supplementary Estimates (B) and reinvite Arnold Viersen to appear on the subject of C-270.”.

By unanimous consent, on motion of Chris Bittle, it was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Minister of Justice to appear for one hour on the Supplementary Estimates (B) and adjourn the meeting.
