Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, February 12, 2024, the committee resumed its study of Canada without barriers by 2040.

Christopher Sutton, Thea Kurdie and Amanda MacKenzie made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Tracy Gray moved, — That the Committee not consider it’s study on a Canada without Barriers by 2040 concluded until the Minister of Diversity, Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities appear as invited for 1 hour to address the committee’s concern about the progress made towards the goal of a Canada without barriers by 2040 as agreed to on February 8th, 2024 and that the Committee allocate additional resources to fulfill this request.

Debate arose thereon.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Scott Aitchison, Louise Chabot, Chad Collins, Michael Coteau, Rosemarie Falk, Peter Fragiskatos, Tracy Gray, Wayne Long, Shannon Stubbs, Tony Van Bynen — 10;

NAYS: Bonita Zarrillo — 1.
