Minutes of Proceedings
It was agreed, — That the statements by Christiane Fox and Romy Bowers be taken as read and appended to the Evidence of the meeting.
It was agreed, — That the committee rescind the previous motion to append the statements of Christiane Fox and Romy Bowers to the Evidence of the meeting.
Karen Hogan, Romy Bowers, Christiane Fox and Kelly Gillis, made statements and answered questions.
Alain Therrien gave notice of the following motions:
That the committee mandates the Chair to send a letter to the Auditor General of Canada strongly recommending that she investigate the expenses and costs incurred by the Governor General of Canada, from public funds, in her capacity as Canada's representative at home and abroad since her appointment on July 6, 2021; and
That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertakes a study of the expenditure of nearly $100,000 in public funds by the Governor General of Canada for catering services during an eight-day tour of the Middle East in March 2022; and that the committee invites the Governor General to appear before the committee for a period of two (2) hours on or before June 23, 2022.

It was agreed, — That the committee defer the follow-up study on Report 2, Processing of Asylum Claims, of the 2019 Spring Reports of the Auditor General of Canada and the study on Report 3 - Hydrogen’s Potential to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions, of the 2022 Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development, until the fall of 2022.
The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
