The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

Motion

Garnett Genuis moved, — That the committee resume consideration of the motion proposed and adjourn at meeting 66, on Monday, May 29, 2023, concerning the study on the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation.

The question was put on the motion and the result of the vote was announced:

YEAS: Blake Desjarlais, Garnett Genuis, Michael Kram, Kelly McCauley, Nathalie Sinclair-Desgagné — 5;

NAYS: Jaime Battiste, Valerie Bradford, Peter Fragiskatos, Brenda Shanahan, Jean Yip — 5.

Whereupon, the Chair voted in the affirmative.

Accordingly, the motion was agreed to.

The committee resumed consideration of the motion of Kelly McCauley moved on Monday, May 29, 2023, which read as follows:

That, in relation to its study of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, the committee order the Canada Revenue Agency to provide it with the following documents without redaction and in both official languages within the prescribed timelines:

a. Form T3010, along with all accompanying Schedules and related documents, for Charitable Information Returns filed by the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation for the past 10 years, provided to the committee within 2 weeks.

b. All Charitable Information Returns filed by the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation for the past 10 years, with all schedules and related documents, provided to the committee within 5 weeks.

c. All documents related to any audit or investigation of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, provided to the committee within 2 weeks, and then any additional documents generated up until August 31st, 2023, provided to the committee by September 15th, 2023.

and of the amendment of Marie-Hélène Gaudreau moved on Monday, May 29, 2023, which read as follows:

That the motion be amended by adding before the words “All documents related to any audit” the following: “And, as requested by the committee in its Report No. 27 asking the Canada Revenue Agency to investigate the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, ”.

At 1:01 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
