Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the clerk of the committee presided over the election of a chair.

On motion of Philip Lawrence, it was agreed, — That John Williamson be elected Chair of the committee.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 3, 2022, the committee commenced consideration of Report 12, Protecting Canada’s Food System, of the 2021 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the committee on Thursday, December 9, 2021.

Andrew Hayes, Francis P. McGuire, Manon Brassard, Chris Forbes, Daniel Quan-Watson, Timothy Sargent and Dylan Jones made statements and, with Kimberley Leach and Niall O'Dea, answered questions.

At 12:13 p.m., Jean Yip took the Chair.

At 12:16 p.m., John Williamson took the Chair.

At 1:08 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
