Thomas Clark made a statement and answered questions.
On motion of Taylor Bachrach, it was agreed, — That, in relation to the study on the purchase of the official residence of the Consul General in New York, Emily Nicholson be invited to appear, and that the timing of her appearance be left to the discretion of the Chair.

Garnett Genuis moved, — That Minister for Foreign Affairs be asked to appear before the Thanksgiving break to answer questions about actions, policies and plans relating to Global Affairs Canada’s real property portfolio in other countries and any other issues related to the committee's mandate.
After debate, the question was put on the motion and the result of the vote was announced:
YEAS: Parm Bains, George Chahal, Ken Hardie, Majid Jowhari, Francesco Sorbara — 5;
NAYS: Taylor Bachrach, Larry Brock, Garnett Genuis, Stephanie Kusie, Julie Vignola — 5.
Whereupon, the Chair voted in the affirmative.
Accordingly, the motion was agreed to.
Garnett Genuis moved, — That the committee report to the House its view that the government should not have purchased a 9 million dollars luxury condo on Billionaire's Row in New York, especially in light of the fact that they have not secured a buyer for the previous residence; and that the committee call on the government to begin the process of looking for more economical and less opulent alternatives for the Consul General.
After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:
