The Minister made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
Stephanie Kusie moved, — That, given that newly released access to information documents reveal that two months after the appointment of Canada’s Consul General to New York, Tom Clark notified Global Affairs Canada that the previous official residence was "not suitable" and expressed concerns over completing renovations; and that this information contradicts his previous testimony before the committee on Thursday, September 12, 2024, when he stated, “I had no role whatsoever in either deciding to sell the former residence or buying the new one”; the committee call Tom Clark to testify for two hours within 21 days of this motion being adopted.
Debate arose thereon.
At 12:03 p.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 12:09 p.m., the meeting resumed.
Julie Vignola moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “two hours” with the words “one hour”.
After debate, the question was put on the amendment of Julie Vignola and it was agreed to.
The motion, as amended, read as follows:
