Julie Vignola moved, — That the committee resume consideration of her motion moved on Thursday, October 3, 2024, concerning the Governor General.
The question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

Stephanie Kusie gave notice of the following motion:
Given that: (a) grants and contributions by Environment and Climate Change Canada have increased by $625 million since 2016; (b) only 5.5% of all grants and contributions from ECCC were reviewed in a departmental audit; (c) the audit stated there was a potential for abuse and mismanagement that may lead to “reputational and legal damage”; (d) that this review was only an internal review and not independent; that the committee call on the Auditor General to complete a value for money and performance audit on the grants and contributions program at Environment and Climate Change Canada, and report her findings to the House.Questioning of the witnesses resumed.
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $5,000, for the study of federal grants and contributions process, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $1,000, for the study of the bilingual status of 24 additional post offices in the greater Montreal area, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That, concerning the study of Indigenous procurement, the parties have until Friday, October 11, 2024, at noon, to submit their prioritized lists of suggested witnesses to the clerk of the committee.
