It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 2,950.00, for the study of the certificate of nomination of Harriet Solloway to the position of Public Sector Integrity Commissioner, be adopted.

The committee resumed clause-by-clause consideration on new Clause 42 of the Bill.
The committee resumed consideration of the amendment of Greg Fergus, — That Bill C-290 be amended by adding after line 14 on page 12 the following:
“Coming into Force
42 This Act comes into force on the second anniversary of the day on which it receives royal assent.”
Julie Vignola moved, — That the amendment be amended by replacing the words “on the second anniversary of” with the words “six months after”.
Debate arose thereon.
By unanimous consent, the subamendment was withdrawn.
Julie Vignola moved, — That the amendment be amended by replacing the word “second” with the word “first”.
After debate, the question was put on the subamendment and the result of the vote was announced:
