Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)c) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the committee resumed its study of indigenous procurement.

At 11:09 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

Jacob Beaton and Lorne Pelletier made statements and, with the other witness, answered questions.

At 11:38 a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 11:46 a.m., the meeting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 12:08 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:14 p.m., the meeting resumed.

At 12:26 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

Kelly Block gave notice of the following motion:

Given recent reports that Global Affairs Canada spent $523,000 on furniture in a single day on March 31 of this year, and has spent approximately $25 million on furniture since 2022, and considering that this apparent end-of-year budget spending blitz occurs at a time when Canadians are facing financial hardship and accessing food banks in record numbers, the committee invite senior officials from Global Affairs Canada to a meeting to explain this spending.

At 1:11 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
