Garnett Genuis moved, — That the committee resumed consideration of the motion of Stephanie Kusie moved on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, concerning the Audit of the Administration of Grants and Contributions by the Department of the Environment.
The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
YEAS: Jenica Atwin, Taylor Bachrach, Kelly Block, Garnett Genuis, Stephanie Kusie, Julie Vignola — 6;
NAYS: Parm Bains, Majid Jowhari, Irek Kusmierczyk, Charles Sousa — 4.
The committee resumed consideration of the motion, as amended, of Stephanie Kusie moved on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, which read as follows:
Given the environment department has failed its Audit of the Administration of Grants and Contributions for poor oversight of millions of taxpayer dollars spent on green subsidies and the “potential legal and reputational damage this represents”, that the committee dedicate at least three meetings to the grants and contributions process and call on the relevant witnesses, as determined by the committee, to appear.
Julie Vignola moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “the environment department has failed its Audit” with the words “the Audit”, by deleting the words ''for poor oversight of millions of taxpayer dollars spent'', by adding the words ''at the Department of the Environment'' before the word ''green'', and by deleting the words ''at least''.
After debate, the question was put on the amendment of Julie Vignola and it was agreed to.

Given the Audit of the Administration of Grants and Contributions at the Department of the Environment and the “potential legal and reputational damage this represents,” that the Committee dedicate three meetings to the grants and contributions process and invite relevant witnesses, as determined by the committee, to appear.
